Welcome to Bus Users Shropshire
Thank you for taking a look at our mini-site. Bus Users Shropshire is an action group of volunteers formed in 2011 as a response to big cuts in bus services.

We know that buses are important. People build their lives around their bus services. 6.75 million journeys are made on Shropshire's buses each year. One in six households in Shropshire don't have a car, and 100% of young people are unable to drive. What we want for Shropshire are: reliable services, 7 days a week network, value for money fares, information you can rely on.

About Bus Users Shropshire
We talk regularly to Shropshire Council who recognise us as a representative body of bus passengers. We give feedback and ideas for improvement to bus operators as a 'critical friend'.

So far we've achieved: a successful campaign to restore Sunday services in Shrewsbury, improved bus routing in Bayston Hill, obtained a greatly strengthened 490 service between Leominster and Ludlow, and have offered advice on Shropshire Hills Shuttles. We also publish a newsletter regularly to keep members up to date. We hold public meetings around the county, so far in Bishops Castle, Bridgnorth. Oswestry, Whitchurch and Shrewsbury - and we have plans for more.

We've managed to do this without you. Think how much more we could achieve with your support. Bus services are still under threat. Share your experiences as a bus user with us. A big membership also gives influence. Become a Supporter (this costs you nothing). Become a Member (have your say. Get active! Modest subscription payable). We look forward to hearing from you!
