Bus Users welcomes vital new and reinstated services for Neath Port Talbot

Neath Port Talbot Council has awarded 42 local bus service contracts, reinstating a number of vital services which had been cut or severely reduced.

The contracts, worth over £3 million per year, have been achieved despite a drop in Welsh Government funding.

Responding to the news, Bus Users UK’s Director for Wales Barclay Davies said: “We are very pleased to hear that not only has Neath Port Talbot Council managed to protect existing bus services for the financial year 2024/25, it has also been able to restore a number of services previously cut or seriously reduced.

“This is a fantastic result for passengers. We highlighted the vital importance of bus services in our Neath Port Talbot Consultation 2024 and it’s great that the Council has recognised this, and focused on providing options for connecting communities and encouraging modal shift.”
