City Regions to benefit from £8.8 billion for sustainable local transport

In his Spring Budget 2023, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has announced £8.8 billion for the second round of City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements.

The funding is intended to improve transport networks and encourage a shift towards more sustainable travel.

Welcoming the announcement, Dawn Badminton-Capps, Bus Users Director for England said: “This funding will be vital in helping to improve local transport and increasing access to sustainable travel options.

“We look forward to working with England’s city regions to ensure this funding achieves its ambitions.”
