Bus Users helps Pathhead residents to speak up on local bus services

Passengers in Pathhead, Midlothian reached out to Bus Users UK in May this year for support with their local bus services.

Pathhead has a single bus route run by Borders Buses. The service primarily operates in the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh and is a supported service funded jointly by Midlothian Council and Scottish Borders Council.

We set up an event at the Pathhead Village Day to talk to the local community about their current services and find out what they need from their transport links. Our online survey captured feedback not only from people at the event, but in the days leading up to it with 271 responses, a staggering 20% of the entire population of Pathhead.

The majority of people needing to travel rely on the morning bus service but there was clear demand for an evening service allowing people to access shift-work, leisure activities and to visit friends and family.

We will be sharing all feedback with Midlothian Council, Borders Buses, and Lothian Buses to inform decisions on local bus services.
