The Sustainable Transport Alliance took the heavy focus off electric vehicles at this year’s Climate Change Conference COP26.
The group of leading sustainable transport NGOs, including Bus Users UK, hosted ‘People make transport: Communities enabling greener travel’ which saw public transport and active travel included in the following day’s Glasgow Climate Pact.
Over 100 people attended the event in person, with 300 watching live on YouTube and 2,842 views on the channel. Alongside coverage across social media, there were interviews on TV, and in national and trade press.
The event brought together speakers and panellists from government, the civil service, academia and city council to shine a light on the crucial role of public, shared and active travel, and the need to put people, communities and social justice at the forefront of change.
