Bus Users has raised concerns over the Government’s newly published Net Zero Strategy, describing it as “overly focused on electric cars”.
Claire Walters, Bus Users’ Chief Executive, said: “The Net Zero Strategy itself recognises that electric and zero emission vehicles will not solve all our problems. In order to arrive at Net Zero, we need a world class network of public, shared and active transport that is fully inclusive and accessible to everyone.
“That should be the aim laid out at COP26 along with the necessary levels of funding to ensure that passengers and the public don’t pay the price of inaction on this key element of decarbonisation.”
