Bus Users partnered McGill’s Buses during August as part of a Catch the Buzz programme of events. Passengers were invited to provide feedback on the operator’s network at events in Piazza Centre Paisley, Braehead Shopping Centre and Johnstone High Street. On the whole, feedback was really positive, with passengers commenting on good drivers, clean vehicles and the choice of tickets. There were some issues around unreliability at peak times due to congestion/road works in Paisley/Glasgow.
Acting Director of Bus Users in Scotland, Greig Mackay, also recently took part in a public meeting in Balfron in Stirling, in response to proposed network changes by First Scotland East. Rural services are a lifeline for passengers and the turnout for the meeting reflected that. Feedback from the meeting has been passed on to senior management at First Scotland East and Stirling Council Transport Team.
Bus Users also took part in the second Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR2) Stakeholder Engagement Workshop in Glasgow. Organised by Transport Scotland, the workshop aimed to explore opportunities for bus travel and to ensure that bus priority measures were considered for the towns and cities in Scotland.
