Bus Users welcomes first round of funding from Scotland’s Bus Partnership Fund

Bus Users has welcomed the announcement from Scotland’s Bus Partnership Fund that up to £23.6million is being awarded to tackle the negative impact of congestion on bus services.

According to Greig Mackay, Bus Users Director for Scotland, this first round of funding will have a significant impact on bus journeys: “This funding will pave the way for transformational bus priority measures that will benefit thousands of passengers. Improving journey times will also encourage modal shift away from private cars, reducing congestion and improving air quality in our towns and cities.

“The eight successful bus partnerships which include 27 local authorities, show how effectively a collaborative approach can lock in real benefits, not just for bus users, but for society as a whole.”
