New Minister with responsibility for bus policy

Bus Users has welcomed the appointment of Andrew Jones MP, Conservative MP for Harrogate & Knaresborough, as the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport.

Andrew Jones succeeds Liberal Democrat Baroness Susan Kramer and will have responsibility for bus policy, as well as the Northern Powerhouse, including Northern and TransPennine Express rail franchises, environment, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), national roads and Highways England, local roads and smart ticketing.

Previously, Andrew Jones was a local councillor in Harrogate and worked in sales and marketing for Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate.
