Bus Users is urging Government to find a more ‘satisfactory and legally, socially and economically sustainable’ way forward on its proposed changes for concessionary bus travel.Â
The charity was responding to the call for evidence on the Concessionary Travel Covid-19 Recovery Strategy. Despite being aimed at Travel Concession Authorities and operators, the outcomes will have an impact on passengers which is why Bus Users has chosen to respond:
“We would urge [Government] to take heed of the public equality duty and avoid making what may appear administrative changes, without first assessing and publishing an impact statement on those who will be most affected.”
