Buyer for Western Greyhound

133 jobs are being saved at Western Greyhound after bus and coach industry entrepreneur Michael Bishop confirmed he has purchased the company's entire share capital.

A regular industry award winner including Bus Operator of the Year, Western Greyhound suffered a series of setbacks over the past few years including arson attacks and flooding, leading to the company’s recent highly publicised difficulties.

Claire Walters, Chief Executive of Bus Users has welcomed the move: “We are extremely pleased that so many jobs will be saved at Western Greyhound, particularly in the current climate. Crucially for passengers in the region, the bus network will also be preserved, ensuring that local people can continue to access their own jobs, schools and services.”
